Public Service Announcement regarding travel to Merimbula
Despite all the fears about the coronavirus, Merimbula is well placed to deal with any more disasters this year. Following on from the January fires, we have had a good drenching of rain which has now extinguished all the remaining fires in the area.
With fears of the coronavirus now spreading, Merimbula has taken extra steps to ensure that we don’t run out of toilet paper in the area. Merimbula Tourism manager Chris Nicholls said “Our motels and apartments have stocked up on toilet paper to ensure all our exits are covered in case of another evacuation.”
Club Sapphire are also ensuring that nobody needs to drink Corona, but hosting Merimbula’s first Craft Beer Festival on Saturday. The festival will host 10 craft brewers from the South Coast and ACT featuring some of the finest and freshest Craft Beers around. Event organiser Nigel Ayling from We Love Craft Beer says “Nobody should be forced to drink Corona, it’s a bland beer made from corn syrup. Life it too short to drink bad beers”
The Merimbula Eat Festival will return again on Sunday as well. Eat is a premium foodie providore event held on the foreshore of Fishpen Merimbula, overlooking pristine waters and working oyster leases. The event features local chefs and restaurateurs’ gathering in a market style setting to create bespoke dishes featuring local produce.
So as you can see there is no reason to be concerned about travelling to Merimbula this weekend. The fires are out, we have plenty of toilet paper, the Eat Festival events over the weekend will be serving up our areas finest food and beer, and your visit will help support our community bounce back from the recent fires. So get in you car, bring your empty esky and enjoy Merimbula this weekend.
Disclaimer. We can not guarantee we won’t run out of toilet paper, but we can guarantee you have a great weekend, oh and please don’t take this article seriously, it’s just a promotion for our town.
