Merimbula’s Thaw Festival will be the place to be this October Long Weekend 2022. Kick off the winter blues and hit the South Coast to thaw out with 3 events over 3 days.

The Ice Breaker

Join us as we kick off the Thaw Festival with the Icebreaker event at Kitty’s. Kitty’s is the hottest place in Merimbula with an Asian-fusion inspired menu, cool cocktails, craft beer and chilled tunes. Kick of winter and get in the mood for a great weekend at Kitty’s. This is not a ticketed event BUT we strongly suggest you make a booking at space is limited.

It’s time to Thaw out after winter and warm up in Merimbula as we move into Spring and celebrate Oktoberfest. Indulge in some hearty German food , cold German beer, Oompah music and German Slap dancing to get your heart pumping. Party all day! There will be plenty of food and German Beer available through out the day. This is a ticketed event and ticket price includes Entry, Entertainment and an Oktoberfest Mug.

Recovery Breakfast

After a big day celebrating at Oktoberfest it might be a slow start this morning. That’s why we have arranged the Recovery Breakfast. Head down to Spencer Park and start your recovery with a hot breakfast and some cool tunes. You can watch the SUP board races on the lake, or if you are feeling up to it you can hire a SUP or an Ebike and go for a ride. Entertainment is Free, just pay for your breakfast or hire.

The Thaw Festival is being run by Merimbula Chamber of Commerce with funding provided by Bega Valley Shire Council. The goal of the event is to increase visitation to Merimbula from the Snowy Mountains.

The Thaw Festival is on the weekend following the Wanderer Festival so why not stay around for another week?
